The first activity implemented by Magic Basketball Initiative (MBI) was establishing a simple dirt playground at Butete school located in Burera district, Cyanika sector, Kabyiniro cell, Butete village. The playground was initiated in collaboration with the school where the school provided the land and the amount that was paid to the individual supplier who made the hoops while MBI cleared the grasses, leveled the playground, and provided technical support in setting up the playground. The playground is currently serving youth from the Cyanika, Kagogo, Kinoni, and Rugarama sectors of Burera
